My enthusiasm for this would be great only if there is a satisfactory quality of life with living to an advanced age. Any severe deterioration of mental faculties and physical abilities would tend to thwart the purpose of living beyond a fairly typical, current human lifespan. Though being an avid reader who would like to have many more years of reading and researching numerous subjects – there wouldn’t be any point if I was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, had cataracts or any other conditions that would hinder these activities. This is only one example of why living to a highly advanced age of say, 150 years would be pointless for me.
