What are your favorite brands and why?
Brand loyalty didn’t occupy a big part of my life until the last six years or so. Much of this I attribute to growing older, maturing, and general changes in tastes. One thing that has been consistent all through my adult life though, is Clorox. I would never 👎 use any other brand for brightening my whites. Any of the others are inferior and wear laundry 🧺 out quickly, eating away at the seams and edges. When it comes to washing colors, Persil or Tide work best for me. Many other brands may be less expensive, but they have more water 💦 than detergent content. Therefore, the cleaning power they provide isn’t satisfactory enough for me.
One of my least favorite tasks is washing dishes, but when it comes to cutting grease Dawn is the best – just as the commercials claim! Palmolive, Ajax and others just don’t match up to Dawn when it comes to scrubbing 🧽 power. This type of housework I want out of the way as quickly as possible! When it comes to scouring powder for cleaning the bathroom 🚽 Comet 💫 is my standby and has never 👎 disappointed me yet! Mopping floors is another dreaded 😟 task but it still has to be done, and I like a big bucket 🪣 of hot, sudsy water 💦 with a few squirts of Dawn (once again). Along with the Dawn I add a cupful of Fabulosa because it has the very best fragrance choices that permeate the house 🏡 and cheer up my mood.
Windex cannot be beat in my estimation when it comes to spiffing up windows 🪟 and mirrors 🪞. Cleaning agents that constantly cause streaking are very irritating 😠 and I want to be done with this stuff done ✅ with a minimum of fuss and move on to more pleasing things. One of those more pleasing things is rewarding myself with a big glass of ice-cold V-8 juice 🧃!! No other vegetable 🥦 juice is as tasty or refreshing as this one. Other brands might be ok 👌 with vodka when it comes to making Bloody🩸 Mary’s, but for healthiness and overall refreshment V-8 is unsurpassed. Other treats I love ❤️ (the unhealthy ones) include caramel candy.
The most scrumptious one combining chocolate 🍫 with caramel filling is Cadbury hands 🙌 down! This combination is best only with the milk 🥛 chocolate which Cadbury excels at making in those convenient little squares. If I’m in the mood for other types of chocolate 🍫, then I’ll buy the dark chocolate, individually packaged Ghirardelli ones with raspberry filling. No other brand compares for dark chocolate (or white chocolate) treats for that matter. Bread 🍞 is another important purchase for me and the best ones are Aunt Hattie’s (especially for potato 🥔 bread), for sandwiches 🥪 it’ll usually be Nature’s Own, and Pepperidge Farms makes the best hamburger 🍔 and hot dog 🌭 buns.
Even during inflationary times, I don’t like to skimp on certain things and to cut corners I’ll sacrifice something else if absolutely necessary. Sometimes, the more expensive brand is more satisfying and better quality for the money 💵 advertising notwithstanding.
