Hello! I’m William, and since I was seven years old, media of all types has enthralled me. Delving into books, movies, music and television will always be my favorite activity. In recent years I have developed more interest in exploring and discovering this passion with others and that is why I created this blog.
After much thought I decided that “Starburst” should definitely be part of the name for my site because of its strong symbolic relation to the mid-20th century Atomic Age and the tremendous level of technological achievements which occurred during this time. During this period the age of mass media really began to burst forth and this is one of my favorite periods in world history. The definition of starburst is “a pattern of lines or rays radiating from a central object or point of light” according to the Oxford Dictionary. A website should do exactly that! It should spread and share knowledge that can be both fun and informative. This site will offer posts about film and television, books and music from every genre from the start of the 20th century to the present. Films with utopian/dystopian themes are particularly appealing. I am also interested in books and films that are in some way relevant to our lives.
